We are watching you Amazon to see if you do right by the workers organizing with RWDSU for better treatment in the Bessemer, Alabama warehouse. Count all the votes! Talm bout #BlackLivesMatter but out here blocking Black folks from voting…shame.

We are also watching Christian Smalls and Derek Palmer the Davids who took on Amazon (Goliath), this behemoth of an employer, and they won the first Amazon labor union election against all the odds—independently. This victory is timely as we remember the April 4th anniversary of the assassination of Dr. King who was in Memphis supporting the Sanitation Workers “I Am A Man” campaign when he was shot down. Dr. King’s southern Black strategy laid out in his collection of sermons, “strength to love”, is the lineage that Chris and Derek are part of because they had the strength to love their co-workers to an unprecedented victory. Now we just have to bring Amazon to the bargaining table.
